EVA Repair Kit for Repairs to Broken Deployable Parts in KSP In Kerbal Space Program (KSP), one of the major challenges you face while flying missions is repairing broken deployables on your spacecraft, using an EVA repair kit. This guide offers tips on how to use this as an effective tool.

Creating the EVA Repair Kit

The EVA Repair Kit is an item that engineers can bring with them on their travels to fix some things on the go by using it during an Extravehicular Activity (Eva). A word of warning though, this kit can repair things that are still connected to the spacecraft and have not been turned into complete space junk.

Types of Repairs

Expendable Parts: Solar panels, wheels and antennas that can take some damage while remaining physically connected to the craft.

Landing Legs: If a landing leg is damaged but still repeatable, you can fix it by right-clicking the landing leg and selecting repair.

Repair Process

Do the following to repair:

Make sure your engineer has the EVA Repair Kit in their inventory.

Just right-click on the damaged portion you want to fix.

Select the “Repair” option. Check for legs that are not totally wrecked, since you can’t fix them if they look like a tarred-up eel.

What are the conditions for a Successful Repair?

If it has blown up or detached, you cannot repair the part.

The default value is 1 repair kit for every 50 kg of part mass, with a cap at four kits per parts >

150kg.

Best Practices

Even on missions you should always carry 2 of the EVA Repair Kit.

Learn the parts that can be fixed so you do not spend time trying to fix things that cannot be repaired.

Learning how to use the EVA Repair Kit will help players greatly in KSP and keep their missions progressing as planned.
