Pinning Repositories on GitHub Pinning repositories in a great way to increase the visibility of your profile. This document explains how to pin repositories, and talks about the details of it with regards both personal and organizational accounts.
Steps to Pin a Repository
Access Your Profile:
Navigate to GitHub. com and hover your mouse over your profile photo, go to admin.
Select PROFILE from the dropdown.
Customize Your Pins:
Under Pinned or Popular repositories, click Customize your pins.
Select one or more repositories and gists to show.
Select Repositories:
A searchable list will pop up. You can filter by typing user / organization name and more.
Choose up to six of your repositories or gists that you would want pinned.GitHub (ad)
Save Your Pins:
Once you’ve made your selections, click Save pins to save the changes.
Important Considerations
Requirements: You can star a public repository if you own the repo, or have joined at least one contribution in that last year ago. Forks are not eligible for pinning (and so forks do no count towards eligibility to be pinned as well56)
Organizational Accounts: For organizations another identical section is to be scrolled down open the first link of your organizational profile. Repositories can only be pinned there by organization owners64.
Pin Reorder: After you pin, reordering items in the pinned section may be reordered by drag-and-drop35.
