Music can make training on your NordicTrack bike much easier. A good playlist not only makes your workout more enjoyable, but it can also motivate you to train harder and faster than you would without music. Fortunately, NordicTrack’s iFit system is designed with this functionality in mind.
The NordicTrack bike allows you to take your playlists from Spotify and other mp3 players by allowing you to connect your CD player, MP3 player, or other personal audio player via a Bluetooth connection. Mainstream music can also be played directly through the iFit system.
There are several ways to play music both externally and directly through the NordicTrack system. Read on to learn more about what music is available on the NordicTrack bike and how you can listen to it during your next workout.
Does NordicTrack Play Music?
Even though it can be difficult-to-impossible to play streaming media services like Hulu or Netflix through the NordicTrack bike, that is not the case for music. Users can choose between cycling to the mainstream music choices available through the NordicTrack iFit program, or hooking up their music through a Bluetooth connection.
Along with allowing users to connect their personal music to the NordicTrack system, iFit also provides eleven mainstream music channels that users can choose from to customize their workout tunes.
Can You Play Music on the NordicTrack Bike?
A major advantage of the NordicTrack bike system is that you can play your music while simultaneously listening to fitness instructors on the iFit system. It’s a little difficult to play your Spotify tunes on the iFit directly without some modification, however. To play your Spotify music on the NordicTrack, you’ll need to convert your Spotify tunes over to playable MP3 files.
One way to convert your Spotify music into a playable form for the NordicTrack is to use a converter like TuneIf. This program allows you to turn your streaming audio files into a form that can be read by the NordicTrack software.

What type of pedals do you recommend for NordicTrack?
We recommend Shimano PD-ME700 SPD pedals which are are SPD dual-sided clips-ins. Easy to replace, the NordicTrack S22i pedals use 9/16 standard pedal thread. To change to clip-in pedals just unscrew the ones on the bike and screw in the replacing clip-in ones. The Shimano PD-ME700 SPD are one POPULAR option and they work well.

Does NordicTrack S22i bike work without iFit? Yes, the S22i bike can be used standalone without iFit. Speed, incline, and resistance adjustments can be made manually via touchscreen, by pressing one-touch side buttons on the console or using the quick-access adjustment buttons on handlebars or grips.
