Basic Troubleshooting Steps
Quit Outlook: Make sure to close all open outlook and office applications before you begin repairing process.
Go to Control Panel Open the control panel by searching for “control” in Start menu or using Run dialog (Windows + R then type control)
Programs and Features – Go into “Programs” >
> “Programs and features,” here you will find the currently installed apps on your system.
Repairing Outlook
For Microsoft Office Suite
Under Office Installation: Select one of your Microsoft Office installations from user16404215 list Select “Change” to the right of this.
Select Repair: You will usually be prompted with two options
Repair (Advanced): This is a more thorough option, and it can come in handy when the quick fix does not work or you do not have any internet creation at all.
Quick Repair: This is the faster of both that just requires something like an internet connection for a quick repair against reinstall.
For Standalone Outlook
Also for Outlook standalone versions, chose it directly from the list in “Programs and Features” and do same steps as above
Alternative Methods
Safe Mode — If Outlook isn’t starting normally, try opening it in Safe Mode by pressing Windows + R and then typing: Outlook. exe /safe, and hitting Enter. This can be used to see if add-ins are causing an issue.
Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant – This is an easy to use tool that can automatically diagnose (and fix when possible) troubles with Outlook. Download it from the Microsoft website for help with more difficult problems.
Common Issues Post-Repair
If you still have issues after performing the repair.
Verify your internet connection.
Turn off any problematic add-ins
Confirm your email account settings are correctly entered.
If the above methods do not work, try creating a new Outlook profile.
Do this and your Outlook functionality should be restored, no matter if it is just another part of the Office suite or a standalone installation.
