Don’ts:
No Heavy Lifting: Do not lift anything over 15 pounds for at least the first 2 weeks after surgery, or longer if your surgeon says so. Performing lifts too early can result in the hernia recurring or a number of other issues12.
Avoid Strenuous Activities: No heavy exercise or lifting for 4–6 weeks Doing these activities can cause the surgical site to become tighter3.
Respond To Pain Signals If you have extreme pain, swelling, or other strange symptoms, get in touch with your doctor right away-this could suggest complications such as: infection or a hernia coming back4.

Complications after surgery can occur, including:
Seroma & Hematoma: Some ballooning of fluid might happen in sites that surgery done (1).
Risk of Infection: Watch for signs that the incision might be infected, such as increased redness, swelling or drainage2
Persistent Pain: Our patients typically do not experience lasting pain, while if this remains for much more than 3 tries then the classification of persistent pain should be taken off as part of your list6.
