The Magic of an Eraser for Suede Scratch and Scuffs
The soft, velvety feel of suede is what makes it so desirable in many shoes and boots, but that texture can often mean scuffs or scratches. But the great part about suede is that it can restored with a crayon (yes, seriously as easy at an eraser!) This is an ad method that works like magic (ad)on suede shoes, bags and other accessories for small marks or stains.
The Eraser Technique
How to remove scratches or scuffs from suede
Use a suede eraser: Rub gently on the stain
Put some light pressure and move in the one direction
Repeat until the mark lifts/fades
Use a Suede Brush to Remove any Eraser Residue
A good option is a specially designed suede eraser. A regular #2 or HB pencil eraser will also work in a pinch though. You will want to try this on a hidden area first, so you won’t miss discolouration.
When to Use This Method
This eraser technique is effective for: •Light scuffs and scratches•Minor stains•Water marks•Dirt/dust accumulationFor heavier or more severe damage, seek a professional suede cleaner in your area. Be sure to always brush your suede items with a suede brush every so often too, in order to keep their texture and look. So with a bit of care and an eraser hitachi (like they recommend), your suede will look good as new (and free from scratches) for years to come.
