Apple Store Repair Policies Explained Apple Stores offer repairs on iPhones, but there are a number stipulations in place which either make the repair free or not. If your iPhone issue is covered under warranty, AppleCare+, or consumer law there will be no charge. Repair Process
Warranty Repair: Repair are made at no charge if the device is still under warranty. The eligibility criteria is the device should be under warranty, proof of purchase has to be shown by customers
Damage not covered under warranty or AppleCare+: customers can get a repair but must pay for the costs. However in these cases the fee is subject to an AASP to set it.

Repair Options: Apple Store Visit, Mail-in Service The decision could be based on your location and whether or not an Apple Store is nearby.
Service coverage: The repair comes with a 90-day warranty for parts and labor, or the remaining term of your standard warranty, whichever is longer
In short, if you bring your iPhone to Apple for repair and it is free under warranty, then there should be no charges. No promised support within the 3-year period will not have a charge. This helps customers to better negotiate what repair options they have.
